Survey Title: “Colours for tracheostomy tubes”

Survey Link:

The Global Tracheostomy Collaborative is a non-profit organization that is committed to improving tracheostomy care for patients and families worldwide. With the hope of increasing patient safety, we would like to gather feedback from patients, family members, carers, and medical professionals regarding the colour design of trach tubes. We’d like to better understand the potential correlation between the colour of tubes (and trach accessories) and confusion that can arise with trach tubes, possibly leading to patient safety incidents. One example, is when the inner cannula and outer cannula do not line up correctly, it may be difficult for carers to see they are out of alignment if the cannulas are the same colour. Similarly, problems can occur if healthcare staff don't notice whether an inner tube is missing when it should be in place.

We also hope to also learn more about the importance or preferences for colour the patient community may have. The information gathered from this survey will be used to inform the tracheostomy community and shared with stakeholders in the tracheostomy manufacturing industry. All of your responses will remain anonymous.
